Nikon Message Center 2 is a software application and service that informs users of the latest information regarding updates to Nikon software and firmware upgrades for Nikon products.

When this software is downloaded and installed and Check for Updates… is selected from the Help menu of a Nikon software application that supports Nikon Message Center 2, update information for compatible Nikon software applications and pre-specified Nikon product firmware is displayed. Update information can also be displayed using the automatic update feature.

As of April 2014, the following software applications support Nikon Message Center 2, and software and firmware update information can be displayed for the products indicated.

• ViewNX 2
• ViewNX Ver. 1.5.3
• Nikon Transfer Ver. 1.5.3
• Short Movie Creator
• Thumbnail Selector
• Wireless Transmitter Utility (originally WT-4 Setup Utility)

• NRW codec 
• Image Authentication Software
  
• Products for which firmware downloads have been released since January 2010

When the latest versions of all compatible software applications are installed, information may not be displayed.

Modifications enabled in this version

• An issue that sometimes prevented the display of update information under Windows 8.1 has been resolved.

Installation

- You must have Administrator authority when installing this software.
- Exit all other applications that may be running, and turn off all virus-checking software before proceeding with this install.

1. If the Nikon Message Center 2 window is open, please close it.
2. Create a new folder on the hard disk and name it appropriately.
3. Download S-NMC2__-020101WF-ALLIN-32BIT to the folder created in step 2.
4. Run S-NMC2__-020101WF-ALLIN-32BIT to launch the software installer.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to accurately complete the installation.
6. The software has been successfully installed when the Installation Complete dialog is displayed.
