About NX Studio

NX Studio software offers a full-fledged suite of intuitive tools for viewing, processing, and editing photos. Not only can it be used to process RAW pictures, but its editing tools—including tone curves and brightness and contrast adjustment—can also be applied to JPEG/TIFF images. It also offers a variety of features for such tasks as editing XMP/IPTC data, managing presets, and uploading pictures to the Web.

Notes
  • • An internet connection is required to access all features including sign-in with Nikon ID, online help, web services, and update information.
  • • By default, selecting a video file and clicking [Edit Video] in the toolbar launches the standard application of your operating system; however, it does not automatically open the file. Open the file in the operating system's standard application or select a different application from [Open with Application] in the options dialog.
  • • The link with Camera Control Pro 2 via [Show Image Immediately After Shooting] cannot be used with Camera Control 2 version 2.33.1 or earlier.
  • • Some time may be needed for Nikon Transfer 2 to transfer large quantities of files or data, in which case the pictures should be transferred in small batches.
  • • Thumbnail display, preview, and playback are not available for N-RAW (extension “.NEV”) and R3D NE (extension “.R3D”) videos.
  • • Playback of ProRes 422 HQ video is not supported.
  • • Thumbnail display, preview, and playback are not available with ProRes RAW video.
  • • Playback of H.265 video shot using Nikon cameras requires a plugin. Follow the on-screen instructions when viewing H.265 video.

Changes from Version 1.9.1 to 1.10.0
  • • Added support for the ZR.
  • • Added [Film grain] to the [Adjustments] pane.
  • • Added [Dehaze] to the [Adjustments] pane.
  • • Added support for R3D NE (extension “.R3D”) videos.
    Note: Thumbnail display, preview, and playback are not available for R3D NE videos.
  • • Video editing applications can now be specified. As a result, Movie Editor video editing software is no longer available.
  • • Videos can now only be viewed as thumbnails.
  • • Creating videos from Motion Snapshots or slideshows is no longer supported.

Installation
  1. Create a folder on the hard disk and name it as desired.
  2. Download S-NXSTDO-011000WF-ALLIN-ALL___.exe to the folder created in Step 1.
  3. Run S-NXSTDO-011000WF-ALLIN-ALL___.exe to launch the installer.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.

  • • Declining access in the event that macOS displays a permission dialog may cause unexpected results. To restore normal operation, go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy and enable the NX Studio check boxes in Photos and Automation.
  • • Confirmed that updating to macOS 15.1 resolves the issue where Nikon Transfer 2 used on macOS 15.0 did not recognize the camera when HEIF images were on the camera memory card. (As of November 2024)

Installation
  1. Download S-NXSTDO-011000MF-ALLIN-ALL___.dmg.
  2. Double-click the downloaded file to mount an S-NXSTDO-011000MF-ALLIN-ALL___ disk image containing a “Welcome” file.
  3. Double-click the “Welcome” file to launch the installer.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
