About the NLog 3D LUT

The NLog 3D LUT is a 3D lookup table developed by Nikon for use when color grading movie footage shot with NLog gamma.
Changes from Version 1.05 to 1.06

 • Added an NLog–compatible “cube”format 3D LUT file for the Z f.

 Changes from Previous Versions

Changes from Version 1.04 to 1.05
 • Added an NLog–compatible “cube”format 3D LUT file for the Z 8.

Changes from Version 1.03 to 1.04
 • Added cubeformat 3D LUTs (identified by file names ending in “V0200”) compatible with the Z 9’s NLog curve. Color reproduction, shadows, and highlights have been revised to ease the process of editing footage using video editing software.
 • These Z 9 NLog 3D LUTs (cube files with names ending in “V0200”) help address:
“tone jumps” and the like visible across what should otherwise be smooth tone transitions, and
overlysaturated colors visible in shots of highchroma light sources or of subjects lit by the same.
Note that these LUTs may sometimes produce results slightly brighter than those of earlier Z 9 NLog 3D LUTs (cube files with names ending in “V0100”). Thus, for example, when applied to footage shot at high exposures or that has been brightened during editing, or when used as replacement 3D LUTs in projects previously colorgraded using earlier Z 9 NLog 3D LUTs (cube files with names ending in “V0100”), the Z 9 NLog 3D LUTs added with the current release (cube files with names ending in “V0200”) may result in highlights that are “washed out” (overexposed).
The earlier Z 9 NLog 3D LUTs are included in the current download and can still be used if desired.

Changes from Version 1.02 to 1.03
 • Added an NLog–compatible “cube”format 3D LUT file for the Z 9.

Changes from Version 1.01 to 1.02
 • Added an NLog–compatible “cube”format 3D LUT file for the Z 6II and Z 7II.

Changes from Version 1.00 to 1.01
 • Added an NLog–compatible “cube”format 3D LUT file for the D780.
