This software update program is for the customer-owned product listed above (the “affected product”), and is provided only on acceptance of the agreement listed below. The Wireless Transmitter Utility is software for creating network profiles when the Ethernet feature built into the Communication Unit UT-1, D4S, or D4, or the Wireless Transmitter WT-5 or WT-4, is used.
While the WT-4 Setup Utility was dedicated software for the WT-4, this software can be used with a broader range of hardware, including the WT-4 and WT-5, so the name has been changed from WT-4 Setup Utility to Wireless Transmitter Utility.

This software is offered to those who use the Communication Unit UT-1, the Wireless Transmitter WT-4, WT-5, or the Ethernet feature built into the D4, and D4S.

Modifications enabled in this version

  • Support for OS X 10.10.1 has been added.
  • OS X 10.7.5 is no longer supported.
NotesTransferring movies recorded with the D3S, D4, D4S, D300S, D800, D800E, and D7000 (WT-4)
The following modes support movie transfer.
- D3S and D300S: Transfer mode
- D4, D4S, D800, D800E and D7000: Transfer mode and PC mode
However, the Auto send and Send folder transfer settings for transfer mode are not supported.

Transfer movies using transfer mode as follows.
1. Connect to the network in transfer mode.
2. Select one or more movies in full-frame or thumbnail playback mode.
3. Transfer begins when transfer marking is applied to the selected movie(s) as indicated below.
D4, D4S: Hold down the OK button and press the center button on the multi selector.
D3S: Hold down the thumbnail/playback zoom button and press the center button on the multi selector.
D300S, D800, D800E:  Press the camera’s OK button.
D7000: Hold down the BKT button and press the OK button.

Precautions for use with the UT-1
When the UT-1 is connected to the D4 or D7000, Thumbnail select mode and Print mode will be displayed in addition to Transfer mode and PC mode.  However, these modes cannot be used with the UT-1.

When the Wireless Transmitter Utility is launched to create a network profile for use with the D4S, D4 or D7000, be sure to select the WT-4/UT-1 (functions as a WT-4) option in the Select hardware dialog.

When the Wireless Transmitter Utility is launched to create a network profile for use with the D7100, or the D800 or D800E (running A and B firmware Ver. 1.10), be sure to select the Wired LAN option in the Select hardware dialog.  When the UT-1 is used with the WT-5, select the WT-5 (Wireless LAN) option.

When using the UT-1 with the D4S or D4, always set Network > Choose hardware in the camera setup menu to WT-4.

UT-1 and compatible camera firmware
Please be sure that UT-1 firmware is the latest version when used with the following cameras.
D750, D810, D7100
D800 and D800E running A and B firmware Ver. 1.10 or later.

WT-4 firmware
When this software is used with the WT-4, please be sure that the WT-4 is running firmware Ver. 1.1.

Installation

  • You must have Administrator authority when installing this software. Exit all applications that may be running including the Wireless Transmitter Utility, and turn off all virus-checking software before proceeding with this upgrade.
  • When installing this software on a computer to which the WT-4 Setup Utility has already been installed, uninstall the WT-4 Setup Utility before installing this software.
  • Those updating from the WT-4 Setup Utility or the Wireless Transmitter Utility Ver. 1.3.0, and to which any of the following apply, must create network profiles again after installing this software before it can be used.
    - Those using the D4 with the WT-5 or an Ethernet connection in image transfer mode or camera control mode.
    - Those using the WT-4 (except for connection to an FTP server in transfer mode).
  • WT-4 Thumbnail select mode and Print mode are not supported.

 Mac OS X

  1. Create a new folder on the hard disk and name it appropriately.
  2. Download the Mac version of this software to the folder created in step 1.
  3. Double-click the .DMG file to mount the disk image. A file will be created inside the disk image.
  4. Run the file to launch the software installer.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
