- • This service supplies software that can be used to update the Z fc camera “C” firmware to version 1.60. Check the camera firmware version before proceeding. You will not need to download this update if the firmware listed above is already installed.
- • This update includes all changes made in previous updates.
- • A card reader and computer are required for the firmware update.
- • Read the information below before proceeding.

- • More background color options are now available for the [Information display] item in the [SETUP MENU].
- • Added a [Welcome screen] item in [SETUP MENU]. A welcome screen will be displayed when the camera is turned on.
- • Added [Red REC frame indicator] to the [CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU] in position g7.
- • Changed the default values for the following settings displayed when connecting wirelessly:
- - Encryption keys
- - The password displayed after the camera's default settings are restored

Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.20 to 1.30
- • [Save focus position] and [Recall focus position] have been added to the roles that can be assigned using Custom Setting f2 [Custom controls (shooting)] in the [CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU]. As of November 29, 2022, these options were supported with the following lenses:

- • The behavior of autofocus during memory recall has been improved to ensure that the focus position will not change in any focus mode even if the shutter-release button is pressed halfway while focus recall is in progress.
- • During remote photography with the ML-L7, the camera will now focus with every shot taken with [AF-C] selected for [Focus mode] if [Release] is chosen for Custom Setting a1 [AF-C priority selection] in the [CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU].
- • Fixed an issue that sometimes resulted in the settings selected for Custom Setting f2 [Custom controls (shooting)] in the [CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU] not performing as expected in user settings modes.

- Updating the Camera Firmware

- Download the following firmware file to your computer.
Please make sure you have the downloaded firmware file on your computer.
• Z_fc_0160.bin (the camera firmware)
- Using a card reader, copy “Z_fc_0160.bin” to a memory card that has been formatted in the camera.
Note: Be sure to copy the firmware to the root (top-most) directory of the memory card. The camera will not recognize the new firmware if it is placed in a folder under the root directory.
- Insert the memory card into the camera and turn the camera on.
- Select [Firmware version] in the [SETUP MENU] and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update.
- Once the update is complete, turn the camera off and remove the memory card.
- Confirm that the firmware has been updated to the new version.
