• This service supplies software that can be used to update the firmware for COOLPIX P950 cameras to version 1.3. Before proceeding, check the camera firmware version. You will not need to download or install this update if the firmware listed above is already installed.

Changes from Firmware Version 1.2 to 1.3
• Fixed the following issues:
- Pictures taken using [Multiple exp. Lighten] > [Star trails] would be overexposed.
- The camera would sometimes stop responding to all control inputs when photographs were taken at a setting of [Continuous H: 120 fps] or [Continuous H: 60 fps].
Changes from Previous Versions
Changes from Firmware Version 1.1 to 1.2
• Fixed the following issues:
- Horizontal lines would appear in pictures shot in [Continuous H] release mode using [Subject tracking].
- The order in which pictures were displayed in the SnapBridge [Download pictures] thumbnail list would sometimes change.
Note: Update SnapBridge to version 2.8.3 or later.
Changes from Firmware Version 1.0 to 1.1
• Fixed an issue that caused pairing between the camera and devices running the SnapBridge app under iOS 14 or iPadOS 14 to fail.
Viewing the Camera Firmware Version
Turn the camera on.
Press the camera MENU button to display the menus.
Press the multi selector left to display menu icons, then highlight [Set up] and press OK.
Highlight [Firmware version] in the [Set up] menu and press OK to display the camera firmware version.
Check the camera firmware version.
Turn the camera off.

Updating the Camera Firmware
Create a folder on the computer hard disk and name it as desired.
Download F-P950-V13W.exe to the folder created in Step 1.
Run F-P950-V13W.exe to extract the firmware to a sub-folder in the new folder. The resulting file and folder hierarchy is shown below:
• firmware (the sub-folder containing the firmware)
• firmware.bin (the camera firmware, located in the “firmware” folder)
Using a card slot or card reader, copy the “firmware” folder to a memory card that has been formatted in the camera.
Note: Be sure to copy the “firmware” folder to the root (top-most) directory of the memory card. The camera will not recognize the new firmware if it is placed in a folder under the root directory.
Insert the memory card into the camera and turn the camera on.
Note: Be sure the card is not locked (write protected).
Select [Firmware version] in the [Set up] menu and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update.
Once the update is complete, turn the camera off and remove the memory card.
Confirm that the firmware has been updated to the new version.

Updating the Camera Firmware

• firmware (the sub-folder containing the firmware)
