• This service supplies software that can be used to update the firmware for COOLPIX B700 cameras to version 1.6. Before proceeding, check the camera firmware version. You will not need to download or install this update if the firmware listed above is already installed.
• This update includes all changes made in previous updates.
• Read the information below before proceeding.
Changes from Firmware Version 1.5 to 1.6
• Fixed the following issue:
- The order in which pictures were displayed in the SnapBridge Download pictures thumbnail list would sometimes change.
Note: Update SnapBridge to version 2.8.3 or later.

Changes from Firmware Version 1.3 to 1.5
• Added support for SnapBridge version 1.2 and later.
• Fixed the following issues:
- If a movie was recorded in “U (User settings) mode” with RAW + Fine or RAW + Normal for Image quality, the Image quality option stored using Save user settings would change to RAW.
- If Save user settings was used to save user settings with On selected for Multiple exposure, Multiple exposure would revert to Off if the camera was turned off with the mode dial rotated to “U (User settings) mode”.
- Zoom would be unavailable if the user choose an option for Language but adjusted no other settings during the initial setup process.
- Interval timer photography would end after 10,000 shots.
- The camera would sometimes fail to pair correctly with certain Android devices.
Changes from Firmware Version 1.2 to 1.3
• Fixed an issue that prevented the camera charging when connected to an AC charging adapter with Off selected for Charge by computer.
Changes from Firmware Version 1.1 to 1.2
• Fixed an issue that resulted in unreliable connections between the camera and the iOS 10.2 version of the SnapBridge app.
Changes from Firmware Version 1.0 to 1.1
• Improved the reliability of photo and movie transfer using the SnapBridge app.
• Fixed an issue that sometimes resulted in location data added using the SnapBridge app not displaying correctly.
• Fixed an issue that would in rare circumstances cause photographs to be recorded in black-and-white.
Viewing the Camera Firmware Version
Turn the camera on.
Press the camera MENU button to display the menus.
Press the multi selector left to display menu icons, then highlight Set up and press OK.
Highlight Firmware version in the Set up menu and press OK to display the camera firmware version.
Check the camera firmware version.
Turn the camera off.

Updating the Camera Firmware
Create a folder on the computer hard disk and name it as desired.
Download F-B700-V16W.exe to the folder created in Step 1.
Run F-B700-V16W.exe to extract the firmware to a sub-folder in the new folder. The resulting file and folder hierarchy is shown below:
• firmware (the sub-folder containing the firmware)
• firmware.bin (the camera firmware, located in the “firmware” folder)
Using a card slot or card reader, copy the “firmware” folder to a memory card that has been formatted in the camera.
Note: Be sure to copy the “firmware” folder to the root (top-most) directory of the memory card. The camera will not recognize the new firmware if it is placed in a folder under the root directory.
Insert the memory card into the camera and turn the camera on.
Select Firmware version in the Set up menu and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update.
Once the update is complete, turn the camera off and remove the memory card.
Confirm that the firmware has been updated to the new version.

Double-click the F-B700-V16M.dmg icon to mount a disk image containing the folder and file below:
