• This service supplies software that can be used to update the firmware for COOLPIX B600 cameras to version 1.1. Before proceeding, select Firmware version in the camera Set up menu and check the camera firmware version. You will not need to download or install this update if the firmware listed above is already installed.
• Read the information below before proceeding.
Important
Images stored in the camera’s internal memory will be deleted when the firmware is updated. Be sure to back up images stored in the camera’s internal memory before updating the firmware. See the camera manual for instructions on copying images from internal memory to a memory card.
Changes from Firmware Version 1.0 to 1.1
• Fixed the following issues:
- When users attempted to pair the camera with the smart device using the SnapBridge app under iOS 13, pairing would end in failure and a message to that effect would be displayed.
- At default settings with a battery inserted and the camera connected to an EH-73P charging AC adapter via a UC-E21 USB cable, the power (charge) lamp would not flash and the battery would not charge when the adapter was plugged in.
Viewing the Camera Firmware Version
Turn the camera on.
Press the camera MENU button to display the menus.
Press the multi selector left to display menu icons, then highlight Set up and press OK.
Highlight Firmware version in the Set up menu and press OK to display the camera firmware version.
Check the camera firmware version.
Turn the camera off.

Updating the Camera Firmware
Create a folder on the computer hard disk and name it as desired.
Download F-B600-V11W.exe to the folder created in Step 1.
Run F-B600-V11W.exe to extract the firmware to a sub-folder in the new folder. The resulting file and folder hierarchy is shown below:
• firmware (the sub-folder containing the firmware)
• firmware.bin (the camera firmware, located in the “firmware” folder)
Using a card slot or card reader, copy the “firmware” folder to a memory card that has been formatted in the camera.
Note: Be sure to copy the “firmware” folder to the root (top-most) directory of the memory card. The camera will not recognize the new firmware if it is placed in a folder under the root directory.
Insert the memory card into the camera and turn the camera on.
Select Firmware version in the Set up menu and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update.
Once the update is complete, turn the camera off and remove the memory card.
Confirm that the firmware has been updated to the new version.
