- • This service supplies software that can be used to update the Df camera “C” firmware to version 1.03. Before proceeding, select Firmware version in the camera SETUP MENU and check the camera firmware version. You will not need to download or install this update if the firmware listed above is already installed.
- • This update includes all changes made in previous updates.
- • Read the information below before proceeding.

- • The SETUP MENU > Time zone and date > Time zone display now shows only the names of major cities in the currently selected zone.

Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.01 to 1.02
- • Added the following supports for AF-P lenses:
- - If the standby timer expires after focusing, the focus position will no longer change when the timer is reactivated.
- - When focus is adjusted by rotating the lens focus ring, the focus indicator in the viewfinder (and in live view, the focus point in the monitor) now flash to indicate when infinity or the minimum focus distance is reached.
- • Fixed the following issues:
- - When photos were taken using Camera Control Pro 2 after Custom Setting d10 (Exposure delay mode) was enabled in the CUSTOM SETTING MENU, the software would sometimes mistakenly display a message stating that no photo could be taken.
- - Optimal exposure would sometimes not be achieved in photos taken in live view using a lens with electromagnetically controlled aperture (type E lenses).

Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.00 to 1.01
- • Fixed an issue that resulted in no preview being displayed in the monitor and no modeling flash being emitted when the camera Fn, Pv, or AE-L/AF-L button was pressed with Preview selected as the Press option for Custom Setting f4 (Assign Fn button), f5 (Assign preview button), or f6 (Assign AE-L/AF-L button) in the CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU when an SB-800 flash unit was used.
- • Fixed as issue that resulted in shutter speed being restricted to 1/200 s or slower if a flash unit that did not support auto FP high-speed sync was used with 1/250 s (Auto FP) selected for Custom Setting e1 (Flash sync speed) in the CUSTOM SETTING MENU.
- • Fixed an issue that resulted in ViewNX 2 or Capture NX 2 displaying Auto (ISO x) (where “x” is an ISO sensitivity value) in the Metadata > ISO Sensitivity field for pictures taken with Off selected for Auto ISO sensitivity control in the SHOOTING MENU.

- Updating the Camera Firmware

- Create a folder on the computer hard disk and name it as desired.
- Download F-DF-V103W.exe to the folder created in Step 1.
- Run F-DF-V103W.exe to extract the following file to a folder named “DFUpdate”:
• DF__0103.bin (the camera firmware)
- Using a card slot or card reader, copy “DF__0103.bin” to a memory card that has been formatted in the camera.
Note: Be sure to copy the firmware to the root (top-most) directory of the memory card. The camera will not recognize the new firmware if it is placed in a folder under the root directory.
- Insert the memory card into the Slot on the camera and turn the camera on.
- Select Firmware version in the SETUP MENU and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update.
- Once the update is complete, turn the camera off and remove the memory card.
- Confirm that the firmware has been updated to the new version.

- Updating the Camera Firmware

- Download F-DF-V103M.dmg.
- Double-click the F-DF-V103M.dmg icon to mount a disk image containing a folder named “DFUpdate”, which in turn contains the following file:
• DF__0103.bin (the camera firmware)
