This software update program is for the customer-owned product listed above (the “affected product”), and is provided only on acceptance of the agreement listed below. By selecting “Accept” and clicking “Download”, you are held to have accepted the terms and conditions of the agreement. Be sure you understand the terms of the agreement before beginning download.

- • This service supplies software that can be used to update the D7200 camera “C” firmware to version 1.04. Before proceeding, select Firmware version in the camera SETUP MENU and check the camera firmware version. You will not need to download or install this update if the firmware listed above is already installed.
- • This update includes all changes made in previous updates.
- • Read the information below before proceeding.

- Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.03 to 1.04

- • The SETUP MENU > Time zone and date > Time zone display now shows only the names of major cities in the currently selected zone.

Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.02 to 1.03
- • Added the following supports for AF-P lenses:
- - If the standby timer expires after focusing, the focus position will no longer change when the timer is reactivated.
- - When focus is adjusted by rotating the lens focus ring, the focus indicator in the viewfinder (and in live view, the focus point in the monitor) now flash to indicate when infinity or the minimum focus distance is reached.
- • Fixed the following issue:
- - Microphone sensitivity would sometimes not be correctly adjusted when movies were recorded with Auto sensitivity selected for Microphone sensitivity.
Note
Updating to firmware version 1.03 resets menu settings for cameras with firmware that displays as “A X.XX”, “B X.XX”, “L X.XXX”, “D X.XX”, “L X.XX”, or the like. We recommend that you save settings before performing the update.
Saving and Loading Settings
- Select Save/load settings > Save settings in the camera SETUP MENU to save settings to the memory card (note that the date and time, file number, folder name, and custom Picture Controls are not saved).
- After updating to firmware version 1.03, select Save/load settings > Load settings in the SETUP MENU to reload the saved settings.

Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.01 to 1.02
- • The WT-7 wireless transmitter is now supported.
- • Fixed the following issues:
- - If On was selected for Auto distortion control, distortion would appear at the edges of photos taken with NEF (RAW) + JPEG fine selected for Image quality and Medium selected for Image size.
- - Pictures would sometimes not be recorded.
- - Optimal exposure would sometimes not be achieved in photos taken in live view using a lens with electromagnetically controlled aperture (type E and PC-E lenses).

Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.00 to 1.01
- • Fixed the following issues:
- - Selecting Firmware version in the SETUP MENU would not display “C X.XX L X.XXX”.
- - About 4 seconds of static could be heard on audio recorded with external HDMI recorders during movie live view.
- - Exposure compensation would fail to produce the desired results if a negative value was selected when NEF (RAW) images were processed using the NEF (RAW) processing option in the RETOUCH MENU.
- - February 29th would sometimes not display correctly in leap years.

- Updating the Camera Firmware

- Create a folder on the computer hard disk and name it as desired.
- Download F-D7200-V104W.exe to the folder created in Step 1.
- Run F-D7200-V104W.exe to extract the following file to a folder named “D7200Update”:
• D7200_0104.bin (the camera firmware)
- Using a card slot or card reader, copy “D7200_0104.bin” to a memory card that has been formatted in the camera.
Note: Be sure to copy the firmware to the root (top-most) directory of the memory card. The camera will not recognize the new firmware if it is placed in a folder under the root directory.
- Insert the memory card into the Slot 1 on the camera and turn the camera on.
- Select Firmware version in the SETUP MENU and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update.
- Once the update is complete, turn the camera off and remove the memory card.
- Confirm that the firmware has been updated to the new version.

- Updating the Camera Firmware

- Download F-D7200-V104M.dmg.
- Double-click the F-D7200-V104M.dmg icon to mount a disk image containing a folder named “D7200Update”, which in turn contains the following file:
• D7200_0104.bin (the camera firmware)
- Using a card slot or card reader, copy “D7200_0104.bin” to a memory card that has been formatted in the camera.
