This software update program is for the customer-owned product listed above (the “affected product”), and is provided only on acceptance of the agreement listed below. By selecting “Accept” and clicking “Download”, you are held to have accepted the terms and conditions of the agreement. Be sure you understand the terms of the agreement before beginning download.

  • • This service supplies software that can be used to update the Nikon 1 V3 camera “C” firmware to version 1.12. Before proceeding, select Firmware version in Setup and check the camera firmware version. You will not need to download or install this update if the firmware listed above is already installed.
  • • Read the information below before proceeding.
Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.11 to 1.12
  • • Fixed an issue that resulted in Auto power off not functioning as expected with DF-N1000 electronic viewfinders.
Changes from Previous Versions
Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.10 to 1.11
  • • Fixed an issue that caused increased drain on the camera battery when the camera was off or in sleep mode with a GP-N100 GPS unit attached.
Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.00 to 1.10
  • • Camera Control Pro 2 Version 2.22.0 is now supported, allowing the following operations to be performed:
    • - The settings for connected cameras can be adjusted from Camera Control Pro 2.
    • - The Camera Control Pro 2 Live View window can now be used for still photography and movie recording as well as to select the AF-area and adjust camera settings.
    • - Camera Control Pro 2 now supports best moment capture.
Notice: Performing Firmware Updates
Updating the firmware may reset the camera clock. The clock can be set to the correct date and time using the Time zone and date option in Setup.
Viewing the Camera Firmware Version
  1. Turn the camera on.
  2. Press the camera MENU button and select Firmware version in Setup to display the camera firmware version.
  3. Check the camera firmware version.
  4. Turn the camera off.

Updating the Camera Firmware
  1. Create a folder on the computer hard disk and name it as desired.
  2. Download F-V3-V112W.exe to the folder created in Step 1.
  3. Run F-V3-V112W.exe to extract the following file to a folder named “V3Update”:
    • V3__0112.bin (the camera firmware)
  4. Using a card slot or card reader, copy “V3__0112.bin” to a memory card that has been formatted in the camera.
  5. Insert the memory card into the camera memory card slot and turn the camera on.
  6. Select Firmware version in Setup and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update.
  7. Once the update is complete, turn the camera off and remove the memory card.
  8. Confirm that the firmware has been updated to the new version.

Updating the Camera Firmware
  1. Download F-V3-V112M.dmg.
  2. Double-click the F-V3-V112M.dmg icon to mount a disk image containing a folder named “V3Update”, which in turn contains the following file:
    • V3__0112.bin (the camera firmware)
  3. Using a card slot or card reader, copy “V3__0112.bin” to a memory card that has been formatted in the camera.
  4. Insert the memory card into the camera memory card slot and turn the camera on.
  5. Select Firmware version in Setup and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update.
  6. Once the update is complete, turn the camera off and remove the memory card.
  7. Confirm that the firmware has been updated to the new version.
