This software update program is for the customer-owned product listed above (the “affected product”), and is provided only on acceptance of the agreement listed below. By selecting “Accept” and clicking “Download”, you are held to have accepted the terms and conditions of the agreement. Be sure you understand the terms of the agreement before beginning download.

  • • This service supplies software that can be used to update Nikon 1 V2 camera firmware “A” to version 1.22 and “B” to version 1.21. The update can be performed on both the “A” and “B” firmware simultaneously. Before proceeding, select Firmware version in the camera SET_UP (Setup) menu and check the camera firmware version. You will not need to download or install this update if the firmware listed above is already installed.
  • • Read the information below before proceeding.
Changes from “A”/“B” Firmware Version 1.21 to “A” Firmware Version 1.22/“B” Firmware Version 1.21
  • • Fixed an issue that prevented the camera correctly displaying location data acquired with GP-N100 GPS units.
Changes from Previous Versions
Changes from “A”/“B” Firmware Version 1.20 to Version 1.21
  • • Fixed issue that caused Eye-Fi wireless upload to stop functioning if a control other than the movie-record button was used to end filming when movies were being recorded to an Eye-Fi card.
Changes from “A”/“B” Firmware Version 1.10 to Version 1.20
  • • Added support for the focus limit switch on 1 NIKKOR VR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 lenses. Note that once this update is performed, autofocus will no longer be available with FT1 “L” firmware version 1.10 or earlier. Users of the FT1 must upgrade to “L” firmware version 1.20.
  • • Fixed an issue that caused photos shot using the FT1 at 15 fps to be underexposed.
  • • Fixed an issue that sometimes resulted in a card access error being displayed when a Lexar UHS-I SD card was inserted.
  • • Fixed an issue that rendered remote photography via the WU-1b wireless mobile adapter unavailable in MF (Manual focus) mode when the camera was used with a DSA-N1 digiscoping adapter or FT1 mount adapter.
  • • Fixed an issue that resulted in exposure compensation not being applied to photos taken in Motion_snapshot.png (Motion Snapshot) mode with Leave_Scene.png (Scene auto selector) chosen for Exposure mode.
  • • Fixed an issue that prevented the Wireless Mobile Utility and other applications connected via PTP-IP accessing MOV files in folders with a folder number higher than 256.
Changes from “A”/“B” Firmware Version 1.00 to Version 1.10
  • • The firmware for 1 NIKKOR lenses can now be updated normally.
  • • Added support for AF-C (Continuous AF) with AF-S lenses connected via an FT1 mount adapter. Note that this feature is only supported from FT1 firmware version 1.10, and that the adapter must be updated to this version before it can be used. If you are updating the firmware for both the camera and the FT1, update the Nikon 1 V2 before updating the firmware for the FT1 mount adapter.
  • • Added support for 1 NIKKOR 32mm f/1.2 lenses, which feature a focus ring.
  • • Added 1x zoom to the MF (Manual focus) zoom display.
  • • Smoothed the display in the electronic viewfinder in auto, P, S, A, and M modes.
  • • Fixed an issue that caused underexposure in photos taken in burst (continuous release) mode using an AF-S lens connected via an FT1 mount adapter.
  • • Improved the accuracy of the clock when it was set from a GP-N100 GPS unit by selecting Yes for Use GPS to set clock. Note, however, that errors in the time reported by GPS cannot be eliminated entirely. Before you will be able to benefit from this feature, you will need to update the GP-N100 firmware to version 1.02.
